View data labels (Charts)

To add data labels to a chart, click the "View data labels" button on the toolbar.

Adds data labels (values) to a chart. If cell-level metadata is present in the chart, the footnote or missing value indicators also appear as part of the labels.

• This option is not available for preview charts.

  Note: Showing data labels introduces greater precision into a chart view. However, showing labels can also make a chart look cluttered.
